this gallery of stationary for fall in the Guardian. It´s like that quote from the film "You´ve got mail" with Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks where he woos her with talk of bouquets of freshly sharpened pencils in the fall or some such thing. I whole-heartedly embrace this spirit of new beginnings, and last week I gave in to this life long (or at least since I was about seven) conviction that the year actually starts in August, and bought myself a school calendar. It´s very well laid out too, with plenty of space for notes and to-do-lists.
Never having cared much for pencils, I have, however, newly opened a fresh bottle of black ink and bought myself a new desk lamp, coincidentally named Newport, like the town where we just happened to spend what was possibly the best days of summer vacation. Add a few fresh notebooks to that and I´m ready for the cold months!
